Landmarks and Lakemarks Heaviness of Stones and Lightness of Air / Architecture within Hypercontext Course Objective The Idea to navigate the space is not new too. From the avant-garde to the contemporary architecture, creation was a challenge between weight and matter. In the history of architecture the role of the weight of bodies and the mutual relationship between bodies, follows logical and tectonic principles. The region of Ohrid and the Ohrid lake will be put in context of navigable cities and cities of air . In navigable cities it will be aquired, how all this has to do with the visibility of cities (possible with comparation with research about the solid lake of Como in Italy ). In cities of air the recent history of the architecture will be interpreted like a journey from the heaviness of stones to the lightness of air. 1. Analysis of the city and the landscape [This can be an interdisciplinary group-work, concerning urban planning, sociology, anthropology, ... The methods of the analysis lead to architectonic strategies] 2. Architectonic object(s) [This is an individual project, a proposal for a land- od lake-mark, which implicates its materiality, aspects of space, body, function, connotative content, ...] It is especially important to touch and question sensibly, but otherwise to be aware of the own subtile, provocative or minimalistic architectonical intervention. |
